Jñāna Chakshu is a Sanskrit word for an Eye of Wisdom or Knowledge. It is one of five jnanendriyas or sensory organs that your body possess. Jnanendriyas are involved in acquaintance of knowledge. Though your physical eyes are positioned in your head, your wisdom eyes are operated from behind the navel, the place of your origin.

Jñāna Chakshu is related to Manipura or solar plexus chakra of your body. The tanmatra of Manipura is sight. The jnanendriya or organ of knowledge is the eyes, and the karmendriya or organ of action is the feet. These two organs are closely linked in the sense that vision and willful action are interdependent processes. Having vision and following them by taking actions is all based on your willpower.

Your willpower is the fire of your body which Manipura manages….! Active and balanced Jñāna Chakshu detect various senses from environment, carry them to your mind and intellect for processing the information and later helps you in acquiring the knowledge of objects in true sense. It helps you in acquiring “Yathartha Anubhav” i.e. knowledge of an object or subject in their true and unadulterated sense, “as it is”, which results in perception of true and comprehensive knowledge.

When you perform action (Karma) intelligently (Buddhi) after applying knowledge (Jñāna) through your Jñāna Chakshu, it establishes harmony among your body, mind and intellect…! You reach a state of communion which is bereft of your past memories as well as your future worries. You start living only in the present. Consequently, the action performed by you in this state is always selfless, pure and free from desire or selfishness because there is no past or future…..!
