Origin of 64 Yoginis
Once in ancient times, during battle with Mahishasura, the Shakti manifested herself into many feminine forms to fight the battle with Mahishasura, Raktabeej and other fierce demons. 64 Yoginis are few of these feminine energies. Together they wiped out the army of demons – the army which was undefeated by tridevta themselves. These Shaktis are satvik, rajasik and tamsik in nature.

The Sacred Feminine as a paradigm of balance
